Fireworks at the Fountain

April 2007 8:30 PM
As I wandered around the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee campus, I felt as if I was in a world of a world of a world. The campus itself feels like it’s own little town and within this town are so many diverse areas that I found very interesting. I first came across the UWM fountain I pass by everyday on my way to classes. This time however, I saw it in a different light. It was night and the fountain was lit only by a the light within it and the surrounding lights of the campus. The campus grounds, usually packed full of students, were now silent and only the sound of the fountain could be heard. It was a very peaceful sight. When putting together this video (click on the picture to view and make sure your sound is turned on) I thought it would be cool to make this peaceful thing into something chaotic. Take a look and see how it went.

Rockin' Out with Cheers

April 2007 8:45 PM
I traveled around the UWM campus and found myself inside the union where the band Cheers Darling Cheers were having their first performance. I was excited about the show because they are friends of mine. I went in and was happy at the turn out of people. The house was full and the lead singer Jesse took to the mic. I captured their rock and roll style in the video (click on the picture to view) as I combined music and color to make this performance come to life. I editted what should have been two posts together so you could take in the full experience.

Chaotic Peace

April 2007 9:30 PM
As I left the union a storm had found it’s way into Milwaukee. The rain pelted the ground and lightning lit up the dark spring night. I felt trapped under a small passage as hail began to fall as well. It was interesting to me to see that not to long ago I felt so much peace outside by the fountain. The peaceful campus had now turned chaotic and the silence was now erased by loud crackling thunder. However I found a certain peace in the chaos of the storm and wondering what would come of it. (Click on the picture to experience the chaos.)

Reflected Feelings

April 2007 9:42 PM
I flew back inside as hail hit my uncovered toes. I found shelter in the arts and craft area. I found a friend of mine, the artist, hard at work on her latest painting. She was listening to music and the swift strokes of her paint brush back the peace back into the night. It was interesting to me to see that the mood of the room and of her painting reflected each other. (Click on the picture to view.)
